About
Welcome to my (real) Birding Corner!
I have always loved nature, especially animals and especially especially birds. When I was a kid, I remember getting a field guide to birds across North America for my birthday, and I would spend hours flipping through it so I could look at the pictures. Sandpipers and waxwings were my favorite, but I also remember liking the funny looking ones like frigatebirds and spoonbills.
Now, as an adult, I still really like birds. It's hard to really put into words why... I just think they're so cute and so funny. And they're interesting! I also really like that ornithologists are a group rivalled only by entomologists in their insanity. Like, there's just something about birds that deals psychic damage against anyone who's obsessed enough with them. It's awesome. I think more animals should do that to scientists.
Anyways, yeah. I'm a turbo casual birder, like I rarely go out more than an hour to go look at those guys. I take photos, but only with my phone and a binocular attachment. Think of it as more "evidence that I really did see a bird" and less "wildlife photography." Maybe that's interesting to someone out there! Who knows?
